Larval host plant for the monarch butterfly and visited by many bees, butterflies and other pollinators. Green foliage with large cluster of pink sweet smelling flowers in the late Summer. Goes dormant in winter and dies back to the ground if experiences winter freezes. Returns when the soil warms in the Spring.
